Serie A boss lined up as shock replacement for Wenger

Arsenal are weighing up replacing Arsene Wenger with Inter boss Roberto Mancini, according to Corriere dello Sport, via 101 Great Goals.

Mancini, 51, lead Manchester City to their first Premier League title in 2012 and the Italian has recently admitted to missing managing in England.

While Inter will be happy to be back challenging for a Champions League position this season there will be a sense of underlining disappointment that they have fallen 15 points behind league leaders Juventus, particularly given the start the Old Lady made.

Serie A boss lined up as shock replacement for Wenger

Wenger has received a lot of flak in recent weeks after Arsenal were dumped out of the Champions League and FA Cup and are languishing nine points behind league leaders Leicester.

Arsenal’s form has fallen off a cliff since the turn of the year and if the league started at the start of January they would only have picked up enough points to sit in 10th, having only won four of their 11 league matches in 2016.
