Samson Baidoo - RB Salzburg

Linked with a host of top clubs during the summer, including the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle, Red Bull Salzburg defender Samson Baidoo could well be the next export from the west Austrian club. Despite his physical strengths, the 20-year-old is admired for his proficiency with the ball at his feet, and considered a confident passer and carrier.

Georgiy Sudakov - Shakhtar Donetsk

Ukraine international Georgiy Sudakov has long looked set to follow in the footsteps of compatriot and former club-mate Mykhailo Mudryk, by making a move to one of the continent’s elite sides.

The likes of Napoli and Juventus saw offers turned down in January, while a move did not materialise in the summer, but the 22-year-old certainly remains one to watch. Sudakov favours a central attacking-midfield role, enjoying the responsibility of making things happen for those further advanced than him, with his impressive chance creation.

Serhou Guirassy - Borussia Dortmund

Following a summer switch from VfB Stuttgart, new Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy is our player to watch ahead of tonight’s clash with Club Brugge. Having previously managed 11 league goals at most throughout his career, the Guinean frontman netted 28 Bundesliga goals last term, missing out on the division’s Golden Boot award due to the existence of the 36-goal Harry Kane.

Bradley Barcola - PSG

With Kylian Mbappe now finding the net for Real Madrid every week instead of PSG, perhaps Bradley Barcola is set to step up to the plate as the Parisian club’s star man. The 22-year-old, who - like Mbappe - favours a role on the left-wing, netted four goals in the first three league matches of the season, before scoring inside a minute for France against Italy two weeks ago.

Marcus Thuram - Inter

As expected, the spotlight at the Etihad Stadium this evening will be on Manchester City hitman Erling Haaland, who has started the season faster than ever, with nine goals in four Premier League matches. Though, on the opposing side, Inter striker Marcus Thuram has also hit the ground running. The France international has four goals in four Serie A games, making up for Lautaro Martinez’s struggle to find the net thus far.

Arne Engels - Celtic

After star player Matt O’Riley made a £30m move to Brighton in the summer, Scottish champions Celtic acted swiftly to secure his replacement in Arne Engels, in a club-record £11m switch from Augsburg. Last term, the 21-year-old Belgian midfielder managed three goals and two assists in 13 league starts in Germany, and he already looks set to improve upon that tally in Scotland, having scored on his first start for Celtic at the weekend.
