West Ham have confirmed they have signed Besiktas midfielder Gokhan Tore on a season-long loan deal for £2.5m.
Slaven Bilic’s side failed in their attempts to sign the 24-year-old in January but now retain an option to make the switch a permanent one at the end of the season for £10m.
Tore, who spent two years in Chelsea’s academy before moving to his native Germany, is now relishing the chance to reunite with the best manager he has worked with.
“I am very happy to be at West Ham,” Tore told the club’s official website. “I watched many games that they played last season and saw how passionate the fans are. That made me want to come here and I am looking forward to playing in front of them.
“Slaven was also a big factor in me coming here and he is a great manager. He is the main man and knows me very well. I could not have said no to him.
“He is the best manager I have worked under and he is like a father to the players. You feel like you are family.”
Only two players completed more dribbles over the last two Super Lig seasons than Tore (91).
