Leicester City are considering a move for Watford captain Troy Deeney even if Jamie Vardy rejects the chance to join Arsenal, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Vardy, 29, is on the verge of joining Arsenal after Arsene Wenger’s side activated his £20m release clause over the weekend, with the England international due to make his decision on Monday.
Regardless of whether Vardy joins Arsenal, Claudio Ranieri is looking to bolster his offensive options ahead of Champions League football next season and is keen on signing £15m-rated Deeney ahead.
Deeney scored or assisted in a larger share of goals for his team last season than any other player (50% - 13 goals, seven assists).
