Borussia Dortmund midfielder Neven Subotic is in talks with newly promoted side Middlesbrough, according to Sky Sports.
Subotic, 27, still has two years remaining on his existing deal with Dortmund but is free to leave after dropping out of contention under Thomas Tuchel.
The Serbia international had been linked with a move to Liverpool last season to reunite with Jurgen Klopp but the central defender is now on the verge of joining Middlesbrough in a deal worth £8m.
Subotic only made six appearances in the Bundesliga last season having made 28 the year before. Dortmund won all five of the league games in which he started last season.
