Tottenham turn attentions to Bournemouth striker

Tottenham are preparing a bid for Bournemouth striker Joshua King as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his offensive options, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Bournemouth have spent in the region of £50m already this summer in deals for former striker Jermain Defoe and Chelsea duo Nathan Ake and Asmir Begovic.

Eddie Howe’s side may be forced to balance their books at one point this summer and Tottenham are ready to allow the Cherries to recoup some money by signing King.

The 25-year-old enjoyed an immense season for Bournemouth last season and can play right the way across the frontline, which is versatility that will appeal to Pochettino.

King, who has three years remaining on his existing deal, has spent the last two years at Bournemouth after joining from Blackburn in 2015 but last season was easily his best campaign.

In 2017 only Harry Kane (21) and Romelu Lukaku (15) have scored more goals in the Premier League than King (13), while only Kane (12) has converted more clear-cut chances in that time (King - 11).
