West Ham United could be without Manuel Lanzini for up to a month with a thigh injury, according to the club’s joint-chairman David Gold.
The Argentinean creator limped off just before half-time in West Ham’s 2-0 win over Liverpool on Saturday in only his second appearance since returning from a one month injury lay-off.
Lanzini, 22, is currently on a season-long loan from Al Jazira Club, and the Hammers are already desperate to make the deal permanent with the likes of Liverpool interested in his services, such the fine start he has made.
However, Slaven Bilic is likely to be without one of his main attacking threats for the next month after Gold confirmed the news on his official Twitter account.
“We will know more about Manuel Lanzini after the scan on Monday but it could be 4/6 weeks. He was superb today,” Gold commented.
Despite missing five league matches through injury, no West Ham player has completed more dribbles than Lanzini (32) this season.
