England international Danny Ings has become the second Liverpool player in as many days to be ruled out for the remainder of the season through a serious knee injury.
Liverpool announced versatile defender Joe Gomez would miss the next nine months after sustaining anterior cruciate knee ligament damage during the international break and now they must make do without Ings until the summer after he broke down in training with a similar injury.
Ings, 23, joined Liverpool from Burnley over the summer and has scored two goals from his first five league appearances this season. Liverpool, however, have won just one game when Ings has taken part.
