Barcelona have made signing Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho a priority following his sensational start to the season, according to Barcelona-based newspaper Sport, via The Daily Mail.
Coutinho, 24, has been in sublime form for Liverpool this season and played an integral part in firing them top of the Premier League.
The Brazil international, who is close friends with Barcelona ace Neymar, has been identified as a player synonymous with Barcelona’s DNA and a player Luis Enrique is reportedly keen on adding to his glittering squad.
Coutinho still has four-years remaining on his existing deal with Liverpool, but Jurgen Klopp’s side may be forced to offer their No.10 bumper terms in order to ward off potential interest from the reigning La Liga champions.
No player has garnered a higher WhoScored rating in the Premier League this season than Coutinho (8.09), while only Neymar (8.32) and Edin Dzeko (8.11) have across Europe’s top five leagues.
