Lokomotiv Moscow eye €15m release clause for Inter target

Lokomotiv Moscow have entered the race for River Plate forward Sebastian Driussi and are weighing up whether to trigger his €15m (£13m) release clause, reports TYC Sports, via Football Italia.

The 21-year-old forward has enjoyed a thoroughly impressive campaign in Argentina this season and his performances have put him on the radar of top Italian clubs Roma and Inter.

There has been hesitation from both sides about whether it would be worth prizing the Argentina U20 international away from River and now they face serious competition from Russian outfit Lokomotiv.

Yuri Semin’s side are reportedly interested in paying his full release clause, which would leave River powerless in preventing their star forward from leaving the club.

Lokomotiv have never previously paid more than £12.75m for a player and it would mark a huge statement of intent from the Russian outfit, who finished in mid table last season.

In the Argentine Primera Division only Boca Juniors striker Dario Benedetto (18) has scored more goals this season than the River ace, who can play right the way across the front line (17).
