Milan after Liverpool target

Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has revealed that AC Milan are ready to fight Liverpool to sign Piotr Zielinski.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been heavily linked with a move for the Udinese midfielder after he impressed on loan at Empoli last season but are close to ending their interest after their £11.75m bid was rejected.

Napoli had reached an agreement with Udinese but failed to reach an agreement with Zielinksi and now Milan are also interested in the Poland international.

“Zielinski has attract the interest of many clubs, including Milan,” Pozzo told The Daily Mirror.

“I can say no more. We had an agreement with Napoli, but they failed to find an agreement with the player.

“We have to see how things will develop in the future. What’s for sure is that each party must be satisfied before closing the deal.”

Of players to score at least five goals in the last two Serie A campaigns only Keita Balde (5.1%) has a worse conversion rate than Zielinksi (5.2%).
