France international returns to form in Ligue 1 Team of the Week

There was no place in the France squad last week for Alexandre Lacazette even in the absence of Karim Benzema. Didier Deschamps was not shy in voicing his frustration with the Lyon striker’s start to the season that cost him a place in the squad for upcoming friendlies against Germany and England. Perhaps there the words he needed to kick start his season ahead of the Euros on home soil next summer.

The 24-year-old would more than double his tally for league goals against Saint-Etienne as he scored all three goals in their 3-0 win on Sunday to keep them within 10 points of league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

The Lyon striker netted with all of his shots on target (3) and also created two further chances for his teammates. Added to that, no player completed more dribbles than Lacazette (3) and only Corentin Tolisso won more aerial duels than the Lyon No.10 (4).
