Manchester United's loan offer for Inter midfielder knocked back

Inter have turned down Manchester United's offer to take Matias Vecino on loan for the remainder of the season, claims Sky Sports.

United are desperate to bolster their midfield options this month with both Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Talks with Sporting over Bruno Fernandes have stalled and it has now emerged Vecino is a target for the Red Devils.

Vecino has been heavily linked with a move away from Inter this month but Antonio Conte's side have knocked back United's approach.

Inter have signed three players from United this season after prising Ashley Young away from Old Trafford earlier this month.

The Serie A giants are open to offers for Vecino and Conte's side are reportedly trying to use the 28-year-old as a makeweight in a deal to sign Allan from Napoli.

Vecino has made 10 starts in the league this season and a further four appearances as a substitute.

Inter are unbeaten in Serie A this season when Vecino has started (W8, D2) compared to a win ratio of just 60% when he hasn't started (W6, D3, L1).
