West Ham and Crystal Palace set to do battle for Chelsea man

West Ham and Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested in Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah, reports talkSPORT.

The 25-year-old, who has been with Chelsea since the age of eight, was left out of the Blues’ travelling squad for their pre-season tour of the United States on Monday.

Chalobah struggled with injuries during the first half of the 2023/24 season, but returned in March to start 10 league matches up until the end of the campaign.

Since breaking into the first-team under Thomas Tuchel in 2021, Chelsea have won 55% of games with Chalobah starting, as opposed to just 36% of those without him.

The Stamford Bridge hierarchy are said to be hopeful of cashing in on their academy graduate, with any fee received from his sale going down as pure profit.

West Ham will make a move for the 25-year-old if they can offload one or both of current defenders Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are plotting a move for Chalobah amid uncertainty over the future of England international defender Marc Guehi.
