Liverpool offer winger to Watford for £12m

Liverpool have offered new Watford manager Marco Silva the chance to reunite with Lazar Markovic in a £12m deal, reports The Daily Mirror.

Markovic was one of eight January signings made by Silva when he was Hull manager last season and Liverpool are keen to offload him for good this summer.

The Serbia international has no future at Liverpool after failing to make any impression following his £20m arrival from Benfica in 2014 and Jurgen Klopp’s side are even willing to take an £8m hit on him.

Liverpool broke their club-transfer record to sign former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah from Roma earlier this month to really hammer home the fact Markovic has no future at the club.

Silva is keen on reuniting with the 23-year-old but it remains to be seen whether he would sanction a deal that would make the winger one of the club’s most expensive ever players.

Markovic made 12 appearances for Hull last season and scored two goals in that time. No Hull player averaged more dribbles per game in the Premier League last season than Markovic (1.8).
