Chelsea have entered the race to sign Inter forward Ivan Perisic and are ready to rival Manchester United for his signature, reports Sky Sports.
United have already tabled a £36m bid for the Croatia international but that has fallen short of Inter’s £48m-52m valuation and now Chelsea are interested in rivalling Jose Mourinho’s side.
Perisic’s current deal isn’t due to expire until 2020 but there is an acceptance from Inter that they would be willing to part ways with the 28-year-old if they received a suitable offer for his services.
United and Chelsea are both looking to add to their squads after securing a return to the Champions League for next season but it remains to be seen who Perisic would favour joining out of the two.
Perisic has spent the last two seasons at Inter after joining from Wolfsburg in 2015 but has enjoyed his best season to date. He has scored 10 goals and registered six assists in 36 league appearances.
