Chelsea have made Lyon striker Moussa Dembele their number one striking target this summer, reports The Athletic.
The Blues were heavily linked with a move for the French forward in January, but were put off by Lyon's £60m asking price.
Chelsea believe the Ligue 1 outfit will be more open to selling their prized striker in the summer and are expected to return for Dembele later this year.
Timo Werner was another possibility for the west London outfit notes the same report, but Chelsea are unlikely to move for the German forward with Liverpool set to firm up their interest in the RB Leipzig goal machine.
With Michy Batshuayi or Olivier Giroud, or both, expected to leave, Chelsea will use the funds raised from their departures to make a big money approach for Dembele.
Only compatriots Kylian Mbappe and Wissam Ben Yedder (both 18) have scored more goals than the 23-year-old (16) in France's top tier this term to reinforce a statistically calculated WhoScored strength of 'finishing'.
