West Ham star Dimitri Payet agrees terms with Marseille
West Ham wantaway star Dimitri Payet has agreed personal terms with Marseille as an exit away from the Premier League outfit edges closer, reports L’Equipe, via Get French Football.
Payet, 29, is looking to leave West Ham this month after informing the club he no longer wants to play for them amid speculation linking him with a return to Marseille just 18 months after he left the French outfit to join the Hammers.
The France international dazzled during his maiden campaign in the Premier League with West Ham last season following a £10m switch from Marseille before carrying that form on into Euro 2016.
Payet, who is absent from training at the moment with a lower back strain, isn’t expected to feature again for the club until his future is resolved and will train with the youngsters when he is able to return to training.
West Ham have already rejected a £20m offer from Marseille and the Ligue 1 outfit are expected to return with an improved bid after agreeing terms with their former club.
Despite West Ham’s struggles this season, Payet has still created more chances than any other player in the Europe’s top five leagues this season (74).
