Tottenham 3-1 Chelsea Ratings Explained: Spurs enjoy seventh successive London derby triumph

Goals from Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min secured all three points for Tottenham in a 3-1 win over Chelsea to leapfrog their London rivals in the table.

TOTTENHAM

Hugo Lloris - 6.60 - Pulled off a good save to turn an Eden Hazard shot behind for a corner with 10 minutes of the first half remaining. Couldn't do anything for Olivier Giroud's goal in what was something of a quiet 90 minutes for the Tottenham captain.

Serge Aurier - 7.00 - Put in a lovely cross for Harry Kane early on that the Tottenham striker couldn’t turn past Kepa. Linked up well with Moussa Sissoko down the right and made a crucial block to deny a Ross Barkley chance in added time.

Juan Foyth - 6.69 - Was outmuscled too easily by Alvaro Morata after five minutes that saw him beaten to a Willian cross, which the Spaniard put wide. Was lucky Martin Atkinson didn’t blow for a penalty after he appeared to foul Eden Hazard in the box. Came close to scoring his second league goal in as many games only for his reaction flick to drift wide.

Toby Alderweireld - 6.55 - A solid if unspectacular performance from the experienced Belgian, who could have forced his name onto the scoresheet in the first half.

Ben Davies - 6.19 - Put in a nice ball for Dele Alli early on that the England attacker couldn’t quite reach. Couldn’t get out to Cesar Azpilicueta quick enough for Olivier Giroud’s late consolation goal.

Moussa Sissoko - 7.30 - Put in a great challenge on Mateo Kovacic to deny the Croatian from putting in cross on the edge of the Tottenham box. Should have had an assist to his name after setting up Harry Kane with a simple finish with 20 minutes to go.

Eric Dier - 6.88 - Not a stand out display, but he did exactly what was required of him. Won three aerial duels, made two interceptions and one tackle in a solid outing in midfield.

Son Heung-Min - 7.68 - Should have doubled Tottenham’s advantage after playing a neat one-two with Christian Eriksen, but was leaning back too much and fired over on the 10-minute mark. Couldn’t capitalise on a poor Mateo Kovacic cross to add Tottenham’s third 15 minutes before the break. Made no mistake after the interval, though, as he scored a sensation solo goal to put Tottenham 3-0 up. Came off to a standing ovation late in the second half.

Dele Alli - 8.45 - Enjoys playing against Chelsea after scoring his fifth goal on his fifth Premier League appearance against the Blues, heading past Kepa after Christian Eriksen’s driven free-kick. Was unlucky not to have a second midway through the second half after curling an effort just over Kepa’s goal from 12 yards. Taken off with five minutes to go.

Christian Eriksen - 8.39 - Put in the delightful cross for Dele Alli’s opener and could’ve had a second assist minutes later after playing a nice one-two with Son Heung-Min. Made the pass the led to Harry Kane’s first and Tottenham’s second and created more goalscoring chances (7) than any other player has managed in a Premier League match this season.

Harry Kane - 8.80 (Man of the Match) - Doubled Tottenham’s advantage after 15 minutes as he found the bottom corner from distance that left Kepa flat-footed, his 25th goal in London derbies. Missed a golden chance to put Tottenham 4-0 up midway through the second half, somehow scooping over from six yards after being teed up by Moussa Sissoko.

Subs

Erik Lamela - 6.12 - Showed moments of his class when he was brought on. Could have had a penalty that was waved away by Martin Atkinson.

Harry Winks - 6.99 - Not enough time to impact the match.

CHELSEA

Kepa Arrizabalaga - 7.02 - Was unable to do anything about Dele Alli’s goal, but was on hand to produce a smart save to deny a low Son Heung-Min effort minutes later to keep the score at 1-0. Was left flat-footed for Harry Kane’s first and Tottenham’s second on the 15-minute mark, however. Pulled off a huge save to turn a Son chance away for a corner on the stroke of half time, but was beaten by the South Korean in the second half.

Cesar Azpilicueta - 7.38 - Endured a subdued evening until the 85th minute, where he put in an inch-perfect cross for Olivier Giroud to head past Hugo Lloris.

David Luiz - 6.66 - Blocked Kepa’s view for Harry Kane’s goal and elected to not make a move for the ball to minimise the risk it could deflect past the Chelsea goalkeeper. How wrong he was. Sold too easily by Son Heung-Min for Tottenham’s third goal that opened up the space for the South Korean to exploit.

Antonio Rudiger - 5.80 - Endured a tough start to the game and was booked for his troubles midway through the first half for a foul on Harry Kane. All in all his was a performance he'll want to quickly move on from.

Marcos Alonso - 6.44 - Really struggled to get forward as was often double marked by Moussa Sissoko and Serge Aurier, while the defensive side to his game was found wanting, with Tottenham’s third goal coming from Chelsea’s left. Fluffed his lines with a late chance that would have set up a nervy finish from 12 yards.

N’Golo Kante - 6.59 - Still struggling with the demands in playing in a different system he is familiar with. Looked far more comfortable when moved into the middle of the midfield three.

Jorginho - 5.94 - Was pressured from the get go as Tottenham looked to limit his influence in the middle of the park. Struggled to set the tempo in this one and was poor for Son Heung-Min’s goal that effectively ended the match as a contest.

Mateo Kovacic - 6.25 - Attempted a rabona cross when Chelsea were 2-0 down that almost culminated in a Tottenham goal. Withdrawn on the hour mark in what was a poor outing from the midfielder.

Willian - 6.63 - Did well to pick out Alvaro Morata for a decent chance early on and was almost on the scoresheet on the 20-minute, only for his low drive to curl the wrong side of the post. Saw a good chance to half the deficit early in the second half blocked for a corner that Chelsea failed to capitalise upon before Son Heung-Min added Tottenham’s third. Subbed off for Olivier Giroud with 15 minutes to play.

Alvaro Morata - 5.93 - Turn a Willian cross wide in the early exchanges after doing well to get in front of Juan Foyth. Flagged offside a couple of times before the half hour mark as he struggled to time his runs. Was withdrawn on the hour mark in place of Pedro.

Eden Hazard - 6.94 - Should have had a penalty early on after being fouled by Juan Foyth. Began to really grow into the game as the first half drew to a close, forcing Hugo Lloris into a routine stop from 20 yards. Was yellow carded at the end of the first half for a poorly-timed attempt at a header on the stroke of half time. A much quieter performance than we have come to expect from the Belgian.

Subs

Ross Barkley - 6.64 - Put in a lovely cross that N’Golo Kante was unable to get on the end of, doing more in his opening five minutes on the pitch than Mateo Kovacic failed to do in 58. Should have started ahead of Kovacic.

Pedro - 6.41 - Struggled to have the desired effect in the final third when he was brought on, but was lively no less as he mustered two shots and one successful dribble.

Olivier Giroud - 7.01 - Headed in a late goal, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal after he was excellently picked out by Cesar Azpilicueta.
