Arsenal vs Burnley betting preview - Another tight affair in store for the Gunners

Burnley make the trip to the capital for the second successive week hoping to build on what was so nearly an excellent point against Tottenham. Christian Eriksen’s injury time winner denied the Clarets last weekend, but Sean Dyche’s men will look to exploit what has been a difficult festive period for hosts Arsenal.

The Gunners have been inundated with injury problems and suspensions in defensive positions in recent weeks and may well line up with Granit Xhaka in the backline once more. With Laurent Koscielny looking rusty to say the least since returning from a long term injury, the visitors will look to pose a real physical threat, as ever, in Saturday’s early kick-off.

It’s a fixture Burnley have approached fuelled by a sense of injustice for some time now, conceding controversial, decisive late goals on three separate occasions. They’ll be desperate to avoid a repeat, particularly after last weekend, but know that their best chance of a result is to keep things tight for as long as possible.

The visitors will be mindful of the fact that, remarkably, Arsenal still haven’t been in front at half time in a single Premier League game this season, and the away day blueprint will be out once again. Dacha’s men have been level at the break in six of nine away games this season, and the half-time market is certainly a worthwhile option to bet on.

However, our tip for this one is for another tough day at the office for Unai Emery’s men, following back-to-back defeats in all competitions. Moreover, Arsenal have only actually won three of their last eight league fixtures, with the 4-2 derby win over Tottenham representing the only victory by more than a single goal in that time.

While the last fixture between these sides may have ended in a 5-0 rout at the Emirates in May, Arsenal just aren’t in that sort of form now so this game may revert to the pattern of the five matches previous. The Gunners were still the victors on all five occasions, but only by a single goal, so Burnley +1.5 in the asian handicap market is good value at a best price of 2.31 with Bet Victor.
