Argentina international Ezequiel Lavezzi has put admirers on red alert after revealing he intends to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
Lavezzi, 30, had been strongly linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 champions this summer, but resisted interest from a host of European clubs to remain with Laurent Blanc’s side.
However, the former Napoli forward says this will be his last season at the Parc des Princes when his contract expires at the end of the season.
“I decided to remain because I have faith in this squad,” Lavezzi told Telefoot in France.
“The team is stronger than in previous years and competition for places excites me.
“However, I think this will be my last season at Paris Saint-Germain. I hope to end on a high.”
The arrival of Angel di Maria this summer is likely to mean first-team opportunities will be harder to come by for the winger.
Blanc’s side signed the Argentina for £24.1m in 2012 and despite never starting more than 25 league games a season, only four players have had a more direct hand in PSG’s goals than Lavezzi (26).
