Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has confirmed he will sign a new deal with the club.
Gabi has 12 months remaining on his existing deal but there have not been any signs in his performances to suggest he is on the wane just yet.
The 33-year-old has spent nine years at Atletico split over two spells and is already looking beyond the end of this season with the club.
“We have an agreement, it’s always been very easy when we’ve spoken,” Gabi is quoted as saying by Football Espana. “As long as I can perform at the level which Atletico demands I will be here.”
In the last six La Liga seasons Gabi has completed the most tackles (627).
