Arsenal prepared to spend big on Norway international

Arsenal have identified Norwegian teenager Sander Berge as an option to bolster their midfield, according to The Mirror.

The 19-year-old only signed for Genk at the turn of the year and it already seems as though Arsenal are ready to pay ten times what the Belgian outfit spent just six months ago.

A valuation of £18m has been slapped on the youngster’s head, having broken into the senior international set-up this year.

Berge is a tall defensive midfielder and was signed as a replacement for Wilfred Ndidi - who has also been linked to the Gunners - following the Nigerian’s move to Leicester.

In the previous campaign in Norway for Vaalerenga, Berge boasted the second best pass accuracy (88.9%) so his ability to both regain and retain possession unsurprisingly appeals to Arsene Wenger.

Everton are also thought to be interested but Arsenal may have the pulling power to win any tussle for the teen's services.
