Bournemouth are not interested in signing John Terry this summer, but do instead want to bring Chelsea teammate Nathan Ake back to the south coast, reports the Daily Express.
Terry is a free agent after the club decided against extending his current deal at Stamford Bridge and has been linked with a move to the Cherries, while West Brom are also interested in landing the 36-year-old.
However, while Bournemouth was mooted as a potential destination for Terry, Cherries boss Eddie Howe is supposedly not keen on signing the former England international.
Howe is instead eager to bring Ake back to the Vitality Stadium, with the Bournemouth manager not prepared to load the wage books with ageing stars, with the club close to signing Jermain Defoe.
Ake spent time on loan with Bournemouth earlier in the season, but was recalled by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte in January, much to the disappointment of Howe.
Chelsea are expected to invest at the back in the summer and Howe hopes that the Blues’ decision to spend heavily to improve the defence would then allow the 22-year-old Dutchman to leave.
