Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has issued scouts to watch Ben Gibson’s performance as Middlesbrough face Arsenal on Saturday, reports The Daily Mail.
Conte is expected to be one of the busier managers in the Premier League when the transfer window opens in January and the Chelsea manager is keen for updates on the progress of the Boro defender.
Chelsea were linked with a move for Gibson in the summer as Conte searched far and wide for new defensive recruits and the Blues could rekindle their interest in January, with scouts set to watch his performance at Arsenal on Saturday.
Gibson has featured in every minute of Boro’s Premier League campaign this season, with only teammate Adam Forshaw (90.2%) boosting a higher pass success rate than Gibson at the club (90.1%).
