Lavezzi’s agent jets in for talks with Premier League champions

Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agent is set for talks with Chelsea in London, according to Di Marzio.

Lavezzi, 30, has entered the final six months of his contract with the runaway Ligue 1 leaders and is reportedly looking to force a move away from the Parc des Princes this month in order to find regular first-team football.

The Argentina international has been linked regularly with a return to Serie A, but is believed to be interested in a new challenge in England, with his agent, Alejandro Ives Mazzoni, currently in talks with Chelsea.

Angel di Maria’s arrival over the summer prompted Lavezzi’s drop down the pecking order under Laurent Blanc. The former Napoli forward has only started three league games, with a further 13 appearances coming off the bench.

Lavezzi has only scored two goals and hasn’t started a league game since the end of October.
