Man Utd submit double bid for Bayern Munich duo

Manchester United have submitted an opening double offer to sign Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, reports The Athletic.

United’s opening proposal for the defensive duo was rejected by the German giants, but talks are ongoing as both clubs seek an agreement.

De Ligt, a centre-back, and Mazraoui, a right-back, were both told by their club before the summer transfer window opened that they were not part of Vincent Kompany’s plans and should seek a move.

Mazraoui had been close to signing for West Ham United as recently as last week, but a failure to agree terms with the player’s agent saw that move collapse.

The Moroccan international now looks set to seal a move to Old Trafford, with United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka expected to make the move to West Ham instead.

It is claimed that both Bayern players have already agreed personal terms with United on five-year contracts.
