Crystal Palace are interested in handing Simon Mignolet a way out of Liverpool this summer, claims the London Evening Standard.
Mignolet is reportedly keen to leave Liverpool this summer in search of regular football after dropping firmly below Alisson in the pecking order for places at Anfield.
Liverpool made Alisson the most expensive goalkeeper in the world 12 months ago, albeit only briefly as Chelsea usurped their £66.9m deal to sign Kepa later in the window.
Mignolet has been forced to settle for reduced playing time in each of the last two campaigns, having also lost his place in the team to Loris Karius the season before.
The Belgium international was refused the chance to leave Liverpool last summer after Karius was loaned out to Besiktas and it’s unclear whether Jurgen Klopp will sanction his departure this time around.
Liverpool would have to sign a replacement should Mignolet leave, but Palace are monitoring his future with an eye to making an £8m move for the 31-year-old.
Palace’s interest in Mignolet may raise eyebrows after they signed long-term target Vicente Guaita on a three-year deal last summer.
The 32-year-old was forced to be patient for his first-team opportunities but he performed well when called upon, making 20 Premier League appearances for the Eagles.
In fact, of goalkeepers that made at least 20 appearances in the Premier League last season, Guaita garnered the fourth highest WhoScored rating (6.74). Mignolet, meanwhile, made just two appearances in all competitions in 2018/19.
