According to the Daily Mail there is Premier League interest in Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa, who recently ended the Brasileirao season as the league’s top goalscorer.
The 22-year-old, once labelled the next Neymar and nicknamed ‘Gabigol’ due to his goalscoring exploits as a teenager with Santos, spent the 2018 season back at his old club on loan from the Serie A side.
He failed to make his mark in Milan however, and couldn’t do so in Lisbon either having spent the previous campaign on loan at Benfica.
Back in his native Brazil, however, the youngster netted 18 league goals to lead the scoring charts, five clear of his closest challenger.
He now has his eye on a move that would bring an end to a disappointing transfer to Inter and reports claim that Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace have all expressed an interest in the forward, valued at £18m.
When asked about said interest Barbosa stated: ‘They are all important clubs with top quality players.’
‘Hopefully everything will be good for everyone if we reach an agreement. There are many things involved, mainly Inter Milan as they hold my rights. It hasn’t been decided yet, but it is very unlikely I will remain in Brazil.
‘The Premier League always had great strikers and it is a joy to watch on TV. It is very competitive, fast-paced and dynamic, with loads of title contenders. There is quality everywhere, that’s why everybody loves it and I am no different. It attracts me a lot.’
