Chelsea eye January deals for Alex Sandro and Alexis Sanchez

Chelsea will target January deals for Juventus defender Alex Sandro and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to appease Antonio Conte’s demands, reports The Daily Mirror.

Conte’s future remains uncertain beyond the end of the current season and the reigning Premier League champions are determined to hold on to the 48-year-old.

Chelsea are now set to be without star striker Alvaro Morata for up to eight weeks and the club’s failure to land another frontman towards the end of the summer window will leave Conte significantly short in attack.

However, Chelsea want to reiterate their commitment to Conte and will launch a new £60m move for Juventus defender Sandro after failing to prise him away from the Serie A giants during the summer.

Sandro’s performances this season have not lived up to the high standards he set last term and the Brazil international was even dropped for their 2-2 draw with Atalanta at the weekend.

Chelsea are also ready to lock horns with Manchester United and Manchester City for the signature of Sanchez, who will enter the final six months of his existing Arsenal deal in January.

The Chile international was on the brink of joining City on the final day of the summer transfer window before the deal collapsed and will leave Arsenal either for a cut-price deal in January or for nothing at the end of the season.

Chelsea are hopeful that by landing two huge names in January, Conte will be persuaded to ignore the chance to return to Italy and continue at Stamford Bridge. Since becoming Chelsea manager in the summer of 2016, Conte has won a stunning 75.9% of his competitive matches as manager.
