Real Madrid prepared to loan out Gareth Bale

Real Madrid are now prepared to loan Gareth Bale out next season after failing to attract any suitors for his signature on a permanent basis, claims The Independent.

The Spanish giants want to overhaul their squad in the summer and Zinedine Zidane has told president Florentino Perez that Bale no longer features in his plans.

Bale has previously been linked with a sensational move to Manchester United but the Red Devils have cooled their interest in the Wales international since Jose Mourinho's sacking.

Madrid were hoping to recoup all of their investment in Bale but have failed to find any team wiling to stump up £85m, in addition to his mouthwatering wages.

Los Blancos are so desperate to offload Bale that they are even willing to loan him out next season in a bid to raise interest.

Returning to Tottenham has previously been mooted but was never realistic as Madrid were only interested in a permanent deal at the time.

However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side may now revisit their interest in the 29-year-old, though it would still require a club-record outlay to cover his wages.

Bale has only started 19 league matches this season and been limited to a further eight appearances from the bench. Despite struggling for regular playing time this season, Bale has played a direct hand in 11 league goals.

Bale has been benched for Madrid’s last two matches and will almost certainly leave the club this summer if Zidane gets his way.
