Guangzhou plot mega £50m move for Chelsea star

Chinese Super League giants Guangzhou Evergrande are willing to offer Chelsea £50m to sign Willian, according to The Daily Mirror.

Willian, 27, has arguably been Chelsea’s most consistent performer this season and Guangzhou manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is keen to bring his fellow countrymen to the club.

The Brazil international has two years remaining on his current deal but the Chinese Super League outfit are reportedly willing to double his wages in an attempt to lure him to Asia in the summer.

Willian has made his intentions be known that he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge but he is yet to sign on the new £120,000-a-week wages that has been on the table from Chelsea for some time.

His goal in the 4-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend was his first in the league since mid-February (vs Newcastle). He has scored five in the Premier League this season, which is his best return since joining from Russian side Anzhi in 2013.

Furthermore, the Brazilian wideman had saved his best performances for the Champions League this season. In fact, only five players have garnered a higher rating in Europe’s premier competition this season than Willian (8.05).
