Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna have confirmed former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has joined them on a deal until the end of the year.
Babel, 29, has been a free-agent since leaving Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates and has now joined Deportivo until December 31.
Deportivo have been seeking cover for Joselu, who is on loan from Stoke, after he was ruled out for two months through injury.
“I’m very excited,” Babel told Deportivo’s official website. “It is a dream come true to play in La Liga. I am grateful to Deportivo for the opportunity.
“I feel good but not yet ready to play. It is always difficult for a player who has not had a pre-season, but with my experience I will be able to overcome this.
This marks Babel’s first campaign in one of Europe’s top five leagues since 2011/12, when he scored four goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim.
