No offers for Arsenal target Lacazette, says Lyon president

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed there are no offers on the table for star man Alexandre Lacazette since talks with Atletico Madrid collapsed at the start of the month.

Lacazette is free to leave Lyon this summer but the French side are reportedly holding out for £60m for his signature with Arsenal among the sides chasing the striker.

The 26-year-old was due to join Atletico only for a proposed move to fall through when the La Liga side’s FIFA-imposed transfer ban was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] on June 1.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to sign the France international as he looks to revamp his attacking options for next season but there has been nothing forthcoming according to the Lyon president.

“Alexandre Lacazette was told he could leave… we had negotiations with Atletico. Things did not work out,” Get French Football quote Aulas as saying at the press conference for new signing Fernando Marcal. “I don’t have any offers right now. I don’t know if he wants to leave.”

Lacazette has spent his entire career at Lyon and is coming off the back of his best ever campaign in front of goal (28 goals) where only Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani (35) scored more times in Ligue 1.
