Manchester United eye £60m bid for Napoli forward

Manchester United are keen on signing Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik after missing out on Erling Haaland, reports The Sun.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster United's offensive options this month and is assessing other targets after Borussia Dortmund won the race for Haaland.

United failed to replace Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku in the summer, instead promoting teenager Mason Greenwood from the academy.

Greenwood is enjoying an impressive breakthrough campaign but Solskjaer wants more goals to fire United into the top four.

It has now emerged United are keen on prising Milik away from Napoli and are reportedly readying a £60m bid for his signature.

Milik has endured an injury-disrupted spell at Napoli since signing for the Serie A outfit from Ajax in 2016.

The 25-year-old has scored seven goals in nine league appearances this season and also netted three times in as many appearances in the Champions League group stage.

Of players to have started at least five games in Serie A this season, only three are scoring at a rate more frequently than Milik (1 every 98.4 minutes of action).
