Toure to see out his City deal, says agent

Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk insists the midfielder will see out the remainder of his Manchester City deal and will not leave in January.

Pep Guardiola left Toure out of City’s Champions League squad this season and is yet to feature in the Premier League this season.

The 33-year-old, who has entered the final year of his existing deal, has no future with City and the club failed to find a suitor willing to match his wages in the summer.

However, Guardiola will be pained to learn that Toure has no intention of leaving the club when the transfer window opens in January, according to his agent.

“Maybe Guardiola feels that Yaya will be satisfied with the closing minutes of a cup game against a League One team, but that’s not the case,” Seluk told The Sunday Mirror, via Football Italia.

“In January Toure isn’t going to leave. He will respect his contract, even though it’s almost expired, hoping to show his worth. The coach’s decision must be respected, and if Guardiola wins the Champions League I will publicly hail him as the world’s greatest coach.

“But if he doesn’t win, then I expect him to have courage, and admit he was wrong to humiliate a player of extremely high level like Yaya Toure.”

In the last seven Premier League campaigns no midfielder has scored more goals than Toure (54).
