Manchester United are willing to pay £49.7m to sign Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben in January, according to Spanish publication Don Balon.
Robben, 31, is reportedly looking to leave the club as early as the new year after falling out with Robert Lewandowski and growing frustrated by his lack of first-team opportunities since returning from injury.
Louis van Gaal’s side have been regularly linked with the Netherlands international over the past six months and the United boss is desperate to add a star signing to his squad to transform them into genuine title contenders.
Since joining Bayern at the start of the 2009/10 campaign, only four players have played a direct hand in more goals than Robben (115), who has featured in at least 40 fewer matches than those above him.
