Arda Turan has dismissed reports claiming he could leave Barcelona on a six-month loan deal.
The Turkey international joined Barcelona from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid for £24m on Monday, but is unable to make his debut for the Catalonian outfit until the club’s transfer ban culminates in January.
There had been suggestions that the 28-year-old would join Galatasaray on loan until January, but the midfielder has forcibly refuted those claims.
"It’s going to be hard not to play for six months," he told El Mundo Deportivo. "But the important thing is that I will play for Barca.
"I always dreamed of playing for Barca. I will train until I can make my debut in January and I will help the team win every possible trophy."
The loss of Turan is likely to have a sizeable effect on Atlético next season. Diego Simeone’s side won 64.3% of their matches last season with Turan in the side, compared to just 50% when he was absent.
