Hazard willing to sign new Chelsea deal

Eden Hazard has revealed he will renew his Chelsea contract, but only after Thibaut Courtois does the same.

Chelsea are determined to secure Hazard and Courtois’ long-term future before the end of the season to keep Real Madrid’s interest at bay.

Courtois has already rejected one contract offer but recently hinted he is close to signing on the dotted line.

While there has been no formal contract offer forthcoming for Hazard, the Belgium international told The Daily Mirror he will renew after Courtois.

“Yes,” he responded when asked whether he will accept a new contract. “I think Thibaut first. Then I will sign.”

Chelsea will take Hazard’s latest comments as a huge boost but they could also accelerate Madrid’s interest.

Antonio Conte has managed Hazard’s game time carefully since becoming Chelsea manager 18 months ago.

In fact, Hazard has been subbed off in the Premier League more times than any other player since the start of last season (34).
