Young winger completes Gladbach move

Gladbach have confirmed the summer arrival of Marcus Thuram from Ligue 1 side Guingamp.

The 21-year-old excelled for Guingamp in France’s top tier last term, but had been expected to leave following their relegation.

Indeed, Thuram scored nine goals and registered one assist for Guingamp, while a return of 101 successful dribbles was second only to Jadon Sancho (113) of players aged 21 and under in Europe’s top five leagues.

The young winger has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Gladbach, who had been in the market for a new wideman following Thorgan Hazard’s move to Borussia Dortmund.

The Belgian secured his switch to Dortmund following the end of the 2018/19 season, during which he scored 10 goals and registered 10 assists in an impressive campaign.

He follows Breel Embolo and Stefan Lainer to BORUSSIA-PARK, who have signed from Schalke 04 and Salzburg, respectively.

With a WhoScored rating of 7.00, Thuram was Guingamp’s highest rated player in Ligue 1 last season.
