United midfielder ready to settle differences with Mourinho
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is keen to settle his differences with incoming manager Jose Mourinho and is targeting a long-term future at Old Trafford, reports The Daily Mail.
Mourinho deemed Mata surplus to requirements at Chelsea when he returned to the club in 2013, which led United to sign the Spaniard for more than £37.1m in January 2014.
Many have predicted the same for Mata’s future when Mourinho is officially announced Louis van Gaal’s successor later this week, but the Spain international is keen to resolve their differences and is open to working with Mourinho at Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old has just more than two years remaining on his current deal at United and wants to extend his stay at the club even though he divides opinion among fans.
Since joining United only Wayne Rooney (31) has played a direct hand in more league goals for Manchester United than Mata (24).
