Sevilla close in on Quincy Promes

Sevilla will sign Spartak Moscow star Quincy Promes before Friday’s transfer deadline, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Promes has spent the last four years in Russia and has developed into one of the league’s best players during that time.

The Netherlands international was heavily linked with a move to Southampton last season but is now poised to join Sevilla.

Pablo Machin’s side will reportedly shell out €21m to prise Promes away from Spartak and the 26-year-old will pen a four-year deal with the Spanish side.

Promes first caught Sevilla’s attention during their shock 5-1 defeat to Spartak in the group stage of the Champions League last season.

The Dutch forward played a direct hand in four goals (two goals, two assists) during the rout and ended the match with a perfect WhoScored 10 rating.

Sevilla have been very busy in the transfer market this summer and do not plan to stop spending after Promes’ arrival, as they are also pursuing Girona ace Portu.

Promes has scored or assisted 83 goals in 115 league games for Spartak (59 goals, 24 assists).
