Tottenham agree deal for long-term Chelsea target

Tottenham have agreed a deal with Swansea for the signing of long-term Chelsea target Fernando Llorente, reports Sky Sports.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for the experienced Spaniard since the turn of the year, but failed to land the striker in January.

There was hope that Chelsea would secure his services this summer, yet it looks as though the Champions have missed out on his signature to London rivals Tottenham.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the 32-year-old in the past, though any move for Llorente, who netted 15 Premier League goals last season, failed to materialise.

However, they look to have trumped Chelsea in the race to sign the former Sevilla man, which will come as a blow to the Blues.

A deal is not 100% complete, with Chelsea still hoping to pinch Llorente from under Spurs’ nose, but would mark another transfer failure by the club, who missed out on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s signature on Wednesday, with the England international instead moving to Liverpool.
