Cardiff City chief executive Ken Choo has moved to rubbish reports star striker Kenneth Zohore is on the verge of joining Premier League side Brighton.
Reports emerged at the start of the weekend morning suggesting the newly promoted Premier League outfit had agreed a £10m deal with Cardiff, which would also see Tomer Hemed join the Welsh side.
Zohore started Cardiff’s 2-1 win away to Wolves on Saturday, as the Bluebirds continued their 100 per cent start to the new season, and Choo insisted only a ‘silly money’ would convince them to part ways with their star striker.
“It’s complete nonsense,” Choo told Wales Online when asked about Brighton’s reported bid. “We have not accepted any offer, nor agreed to sell Kenneth. He would only go if we were offered silly money.”
The 23-year-old has established himself as a key player for Cardiff since joining the club on an initial loan deal in January 2016 and it would be a hammer blow for the club’s promotion push if they were to lose Zohore before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.
Zohore, who has scored one goal and registered two assists this season, has attempted the most shots in the Championship through four matches (21).
