Manchester United target free to leave Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed the club will listen to offers for Jerome Boateng this summer, reports BILD.
Boateng has spent the last seven years at Bayern after joining the Bundesliga giants from Manchester City in 2011.
The 29-year-old has endured a turbulent few years with Bayern and now the German champions are ready to cash in on the 29-year-old.
Boateng has struggled with injuries over the last three seasons and Niko Kovac’s side are ready to place their faith in 22-year-old Niklas Sule.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of Boateng and is on the market for a new centre-back this summer.
The Red Devils are struggling to get a deal for Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld over the line and are already considering a move for Sevilla’s Clement Lenglet.
Boateng’s availability could change United’s transfer plans once again, but it remains to be seen whether he would consider a return to Manchester.
The Germany international has only started 46 of Bayern’s last 102 league matches over the last three campaigns.
In that time, Bayern have won 82.6% of the league games Boateng has started, compared to 75% in the matches he didn’t.
