Real Madrid are preparing a stunning £307m move for PSG star Neymar to persuade the French side to forgo a release clause in his contract, reports the Sun.
The Brazil international, who is backed to shine for the Seleção at the World Cup this summer, is rumoured to have a clause in his deal that means he can leave for £263m on September 1st, a day after the transfer window closes.
However, that would mean Neymar couldn’t turn out for another team until 2019, which Real Madrid are unwilling to wait for.
Indeed, Los Blancos are ready to offer an additional £44m to PSG on order to convince the Ligue 1 side to sell the 26-year-old this summer.
Any big money move for Neymar would eclipse the £198m PSG spent to sign Neymar from Barcelona last year and could signal a huge change at Real Madrid.
After a third successive Champions League success, a period of transition is expected in the Spanish capital over the coming months, with Zinedine Zidane’s exit signalling the beginning of the end of an era at the Bernabeu.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are set to leave Real Madrid this summer, with a Premier League return on the cards, with Florentino Perez keen to land Neymar.
