Liverpool defender escapes serious injury

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has discovered he has escaped serious injury but is set for a month out injured with a knee problem, reports the Press Association.

Lovren, 26, was on the receiving end of a strong Craig Gardner tackle in their 2-2 draw with West Brom on Sunday, which forced him off.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was left incensed by the challenge but scan results have revealed the injury isn’t bad as first feared.

The Croatia international has been in relatively good form of late, which will be particularly disappointing for the defender.
