Manchester City ace will be at the club next season, says agent
The agent of Sergio Aguero is adamant the Argentine striker will not leave Manchester City this summer.
Aguero’s long-term future at City has been in doubt ever since Gabriel Jesus’ arrival from Palmeiras in January.
The Argentina international has dropped below Jesus in the pecking order for places and there have been suggestions Pep Guardiola will look to sign another quality striker over the summer.
Another striker would only limit Aguero’s first-team opportunities more but his representative, Hernan Reguera, insists his client is going no where this summer.
“Sergio is happy at Manchester City, has a contract and wants to respect it,” he told FCInterNews, via The Daily Mirror. “There are no [problems with Guardiola]. Absolutely. Not only are there no talks with any team but no chat or something close to that. I repeat: there is nothing.”
The 28-year-old has been the first name on the City teamsheet ever since he joined from Atletico Madrid in 2011, so this new situation will be uncharted territory for the striker.
In fact, during his time in England, Aguero has scored at least 36 more goals than any other player in the Premier League (120).
