Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta insists they have no intentions of letting Juan Cuadrado return to Chelsea at the end of the season.
Cuadrado, 27, has spent the season on loan at Juventus after failing to make any impression on previous manager Jose Mourinho during his seven-month stint at Stamford Bridge.
The Colombia international had always been expected to make the temporary switch a permanent one in Turin but the impending arrival of Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager has thrown his future up in the air, although Juventus have no desire of losing the wideman.
“The fact Antonio Conte is going to Chelsea just confirms that we mad a good choice when we took him from Siena,” Marotta is quoted as saying by Sky Sports. “I am proud of this and for him.
“But as for Cuadrado? I don’t think Conte will influence our decision. We could keep him there.”
The former Fiorentina wideman has been used fleetingly by Max Allegri this season and only in particular systems, which has limited him to just 13 starts in the league this season.
He has made the most of his time on the pitch, however, which could not be said of his time at Chelsea. In fact, of players to have made at least 20 appearances in Serie A this season, only Diego Perotti (24.5 mins) requires fewer minutes per successful dribble than Cuadrado (25.6 mins).
