AC Milan eye Real Madrid forward as Ibrahimovic replacement

AC Milan are planning for life without Zlatan Ibrahimovic next season and have two strikers on their shortlist for potential replacements, claims Tuttosport.

Ibrahimovic returned to Milan at the start of the year on a deal until the end of the season following a successful 12-month stint with LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer.

However, the financial implications of the global oubtreak of COVID-19 has left Ibrahimovic's future at Milan uncertain.

The Serie A outfit are reportedly planning to implement a salary cap going forward and Ibrahimovic's wages would certainly put a strain on that, added to the fact turns 39 in October.

Milan are now casting the net for potential replacements for the 2020/21 campaign and have identified Real Madrid outcast Luka Jovic and AZ Alkmaar hotshot Myron Boadu.

Jovic has endured a nightmare maiden campaign at Madrid since completing a £52.4m move from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and has been heavily linked with a move away.

The Serbia international has only started four league matches for Madrid this season and Milan are now exploring his availability for the future.

Jovic is not the only striker being considered by Stefano Pioli's side, with Boadu hugely admired by the Rossoneri.

The 2019/20 campaign has been a brilliant breakout year for teenager, who has been rewarded with his first Netherlands cap as a result.

Boadu, 19, has played a direct hand in 20 goals in 24 league appearances for Alkmaar this season (16 goals, four assists).
